Sibyl started a pilot nature immersion program for young children in the Winter of 2013 and Summer camps for Pre K through 5th grade the following summer in 2014 to get children outdoors into nature. What officially started as Roslyn Outdoor School in the Fall of 2014 under the umbrella of the local nonprofit RTown Community became Washington Outdoor School under our own 501(c)3 nonprofit status in the Fall of 2016. She currently oversees and runs all of our programs, trains and manages staff, and teaches in classes when she can. Sibyl is an advocate for outdoor education around our state and throughout the country. Working on the Outdoor Preschool licensure pilot program she helped to develop standards that take into account the unique aspects and environments in an all outdoor program which culminated into law that allows outdoor nature based preschools the ability to license their programs through the Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) in Washington State. She regularly visits other nature-immersion programs and brings her wealth knowledge back to WOS and serves on the Board of the Washington Nature Preschool Association (WaNPA).
